A survival situation is based largely upon your will to survive. It takes much more than the knowledge and skills to build shelters, get food, make fires, and travel without the aid of standard navigational devices. Some people with little or no survival training have managed to survive life threathening circumstances. A person who has equipment, and no will to survive cannot and will not survive. The key ingredient to any survival situation is the mental attitude of the individual involved. Without a desire to survive, acquired skills serve little purpose and invaluable knowledge goes to waste. Stay focus! and you will definitely get through.
Learn the key word S-U-R-V-I-V-A-L.
S - Size up the situation.
- Survey your Surroundings: Get a feel for what is going on around you.
-
Survey your Physical Conditions: Check your wounds and see what equipment you can use to help you stay alive.
U- Use all your senses.
-
Plan your move. Consider all aspects of your situation before making a
move (sight, smell, touch, taste, hear). If you act in a haste, you may
forget or lose some of your equipment.

I. Introduction:
To establish a position on the face of the Earth, one must know how that point is in reference to where you are at, the current position (CP). The CP is a very important point as you will ALWAYS need this when navigating. We shall define four basics cardinal directions and in between them, there shall be many more subdirections or combination directions.1
